Nokomis is really three kinds of house. The Sorrento neighborhoods — Sorrento East, South and Woods — are 1970s to 1990s block ranches on oversized lots, and they usually need the wall between the kitchen and the family room opened up. Casey Key is barrier-island territory, where flood elevation and wind-load requirements shape what can be done and how it gets permitted. East of the Trail and along Laurel Road, communities like Calusa Lakes, Toscana Isles, Magnolia Bay and Bellacina are new enough that the work is replacing a builder-standard package with real cabinetry and stone.

Nokomis is unincorporated, so permits go through Sarasota County Planning and Development Services. We pull them.

Free in-home consultation:
We come to the house, measure the space, listen to how you actually use it, and give you a realistic budget range before anyone talks about design.
Design and selections:
Our AKBD-credentialed designer prepares 3D renderings so you can walk the space before it is built. Selections happen in person at the showroom, five minutes from most Nokomis addresses, and you see and touch every door style, slab and fixture before it is ordered.
Permitting and construction:
Nokomis sits in unincorporated Sarasota County, so we file with Sarasota County Planning and Development Services — and on Casey Key we handle the flood-zone review that attaches to barrier-island parcels. We hold both the general contractor licence (CGC1541392) and the plumbing licence (CFC1434738), so structural changes, plumbing and electrical are handled in-house rather than subcontracted out.
